Key Responsibility
This role offers comprehensive care, including:
Personal assistance
Medication management
Mobility support
Meal preparation, and house chores, alongside companionship
Health monitoring, appointment assistance, safety, and independence promotion.

- Communication: Possesses excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to effectively interact with service users, their families, and colleagues.
- Patience: Exhibits patience in providing care at the service user’s pace and remains calm when dealing with service users with cognitive impairments or challenging behaviours.
- Observation: Shows strong observation skills to identify changes in service users’ health, behaviour, or needs and accurately report them.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrates quick thinking and the ability to find solutions to unexpected situations or challenges that may arise during their duties.
- Adaptability: Displays flexibility to adapt to changing situations, routines, and the preferences of service users.
- Time Management: Possesses effective time management skills to complete tasks within allocated timeframes while ensuring the delivery of quality care.
Experience:
- Personal Care Experience: Prior experience in providing personal care, including grooming, bathing, toileting, and mobility assistance, is highly valuable.
- Elderly Care Experience: Experience in caring for elderly individuals, understanding their unique needs, and promoting their overall well-being.
- Specialised Care Experience: Previous exposure to specific conditions such as dementia, disabilities, or chronic illnesses, accompanied by knowledge of appropriate care practices.
- Medication Management: Familiarity with medication administration and management procedures.
- Household Management: Experience in household chores, including cleaning, cooking, and laundry.
Qualifications:
- Care Qualifications: Possession of a Care Certificate is a requirement. A candidate with a diploma in Health and Social Care is advantageous.
- Basic Literacy and Numeracy: Holds GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent. Demonstrates adequate literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keeping, understanding care plans, and managing medication dosages.
- DBS Check: Has a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to ensure eligibility to work with vulnerable individuals.
Training and Certification:
- First Aid Certification: Possessing basic first aid knowledge and certification is beneficial for responding to emergencies.
- Manual Handling Training: Completion of training in manual handling techniques to ensure safe movement and transfer of service users.
- Food Hygiene Certificate: If involved in meal preparation, holds a food hygiene certificate to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
